Corporate volunteering consolidates as a key tool for internal management, social impact, and reputation
The “Voluntare Report 2025”, with participation from 236 organizations, analyzes corporate volunteering trends in Europe and Latin America over the past 10 years and anticipates opportunities ahead of the 2026 International Year of Volunteers.
Voluntare presents the 2025 Report, which concludes that volunteering has evolved from an isolated action into a core pillar of companies’ social strategy and talent management. As a result, 97% of organizations now offer volunteering activities during working hours.
The report highlights growing participation levels: 77% of organizations mobilize more than 10% of their workforce, and 45% exceed 20%.
In its third edition, the study identifies three major future trends in corporate volunteering:
- digitalization and the use of technology,
- growth in skills- and knowledge-based volunteering,
- and a culture of partnerships to increase impact.
The report also outlines key challenges. In Europe, these include the need to mobilize more volunteers, strengthen innovation, and continue increasing senior leadership commitment. In Latin America, the future focus will be on professionalizing management and expanding resources.
Over the past five years, corporate volunteering has matured, expanded, and consolidated as a key tool for internal management, social impact, and corporate reputation. More than 93% of organizations expect their volunteering programs to grow in the coming years, reinforcing them as a structural pillar of their social and talent management strategies. This momentum reflects a paradigm shift: volunteering is no longer seen as an isolated action, but as a lever for cultural and social transformation within companies.
These conclusions are drawn from the “Voluntare Report 2025”, presented on the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, celebrated on December 5. The analysis, conducted in collaboration with the University of Almería and with the support of Voluntariado CaixaBank, Fundación Repsol, and Fundación Telefónica, gathers data from 236 organizations in Europe and Latin America and is published ahead of the launch of 2026 as the United Nations International Year of Volunteers for Development.
